"On Nov. 25 at 10:18pm, officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded
to 1502 E. First St. on report of a male subject that had forcibly entered
the residence of Deanna Moshay Cotton, 27, and was assaulting her.
Upon officers arrival they heard screams for help from Cotton and entered the residence. The suspect, later identified as Kenyatta Agbara Walters, a 36-year-old male, of 1617 Shady Mount Ave. in Winston-Salem, could not be located in the
primary portion of the residence and was believed to be hidden in the attic.
The Winston-Salem Police Department SWAT team was activated
and responded to the scene.
They located Walters hidden in the
attic. Walters was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Felony
Breaking and Entering, Assault
on a Female, Assault
by Strangulation, Malicious
Injury to Property and Resist/Delay
an Officer. A bond and
arrest photograph is pending at this time."
