Twin City Stage Presents Curious George

"Twin City Stage will present Curious George, a new musical based on the books by Margaret and H.A. Rey, on Saturday, April 11 at the Arts Council Theatre, 610 Coliseum Drive in Winston-Salem.  The show begins at 11 am and runs approximately fifty minutes.  All tickets are $12 for general admission and may be purchased at the box office window one hour prior to curtain or online at childrenstheatrews.org.

Recommended for audiences aged 4 and up, Curious George will be performed by TheatreWorks USA (theatreworksusa.org).  JDL Castle Corporation is sponsoring the show.

Join the inquisitive and lovable Curious George, star of Margaret Rey and H. A. Rey’s popular book series (as well as movies and the award-winning PBS television show), in this delightful new musical.  Something has kept the crowds away on All You Can Eat Meatball Day, so George goes on a mission to enter Chef Pasghetti’s meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest…in Rome! With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure, learning more about Rome, meatballs and the “secret ingredient” to cooking.

Curious George features a book by Jeremy Desmon with original music by John Kavanaugh. This production is directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Broadways’s Ragtime, Theatreworks USA’s Seussical). The show features costumes by Tracy Christenson and sets by Michael Schweikardt.

Twin City Stage is celebrating its 80th Season in 2014-15.  Founded in 1935 as The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, the company merged with The Children’s Theatre of Winston-Salem in 2011.  It provides exciting and innovative live theatre for people of all ages and offers acting classes and summer camps for children and teens."
