Old German Baptist Brethren Church Nominated for National Register

      "The Old German Baptist Brethren Church, at 4916 Charnel Road in Winston-Salem, has been nominated for National Register of Historic Places.
        The Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission will review the eligibility of the nomination and accept public comments when it reviews the nomination Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m. in Room 530 of the Stuart Municipal Building, 100 E. First Street.
        The church, built in 1860 with additions added in the 1940s and 1950s, was the first meeting house built by the Fraternity Brethren, a congregation organized in 1775.
        The National Register of Historic Places is the nation's official list of buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts worthy of preservation for their significance in American history, architecture, archaeology, and culture."
